This Saturday April 18 is our Volunteer Work Day–join us for great projects: Mulch the collards and peppers so they grow in the (hot) summer sun; Plant Watermelon (yes!) and Okra; and Clear/Prep for *new* community plots! All time record! 110 pounds of collards harvested this morning and headed to a food pantry in North Lauderdale. Great to have NUSLA Wesley working with us on their Spring Break Trip! Thanks to Mission: Layover for working it out with our partner Parkway United Methodist Church.
60 pounds of Collard Greens harvested today! These beautiful greens are headed to a soup kitchen in Miami for healthy and happy eating.
It’s cold outside (even here in So Florida!) but don’t worry, Saturday’s Volunteer Workday will have a high of 75! Come join us for supervised activities, snacks, lemongrass tea and a garden lunch.
